PRESS RELEASE:Â Pelletier Ford in Fort Kent Acquires Long Time Ford Dealership in Lincoln, ME
Pelletier Motors Family of Dealerships Grows To New Region
2019-09-13
LINCOLN - Residents of Lincoln will see their long time Ford dealership, Cole-Whitney Ford, continue to grow as it will now become "Pelletier Ford of Lincoln." The new owners are no strangers to the car dealership business, as they have 3 franchisees currently operating in Fort Kent, almost 150 miles north of Lincoln! Steve Pelletier, President of Valley Motors, Pelletier Ford and Pelletier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (aka Pelletier Motors,) is co-owner of the Lincoln dealership with Glenn Ouellette, General Manager for the Fort Kent dealerships. Together, they will look to provide the Lincoln region with the outstanding service they have been receiving for years and to grow the dealership with the community.
"We are looking forward to doing business in the town of Lincoln," says co-owner Steve Pelletier. "Our goal is to transform the store into a modern dealership and provide the best customer experience possible."
Cole-Whitney Ford began when Roger and Jay Cole partnered with Dan and Diane Whitney in August of 1980 to purchase the Ford dealership. This year marks 39 years of serving the Lincoln and surrounding areas. Roger retired in August of 2000, leaving Dan the sole owner of the dealership. Dan ran the business until 2017, when he passed away after a courageous fight with a relentless disease. The town felt the loss of this generous man. His daughter, Donna, took over the dealership for two years when Steve approached her with the possibility of acquiring the Ford franchise. They discussed the future of the dealership, ensuring the fundamental values that Cole-Whitney held coincided with Pelletier Ford. After careful consideration, Donna agreed to the acquisition.
"Construction crews will be working over the next few months to expand the dealership," says Glenn Ouellette. "We're looking to reconstruct the service and parts areas. Normal daily operations will not be disrupted but we ask that you bear with us during the construction period."
The current service layout will be redesigned allowing technicians to have more space to operate while giving the customers an independent area to unwind for the short period of time their vehicle will be worked on.
Glenn continues, "When construction is finished, there will be four new work bays to accommodate additional customers' vehicles. All equipment will be updated with the latest technology, the layout will have been altered allowing technicians to smoothly transition from job to job and customers will find a spacious and welcoming waiting area. We have plans to expand elsewhere within the dealership after the service and parts departments are completed."
Donna will remain a vital part of the business while keeping Roger and Dan's vision alive and strong. The entire staff will continue and remain with the business as they are excited for the new changes to come. While the look of the dealership will be modified to allow more efficient operations in each department, one thing will never change; the unparalleled commitment to small town customer service.
"The staff is the heart of the dealership," Glenn adds. "We requested that they remain with us as they are essential to the success of the business and we're happy to say they will all continue to provide the best customer service that Cole-Whitney Ford has proudly been known for!"
"We (the Whitney Family) are very excited to welcome Steve Pelletier and Glenn Ouellette to Lincoln," Donna continues, "We are very optimistic about the future and the improvements planned to accommodate the needs of our customers."
About Pelletier Motors
Pelletier Ford started in 2011 when Steve Pelletier purchased Martin Ford. Increasing the staff, adding new equipment; the dealership flourished. In October of 2012, the local GM dealership Valley Auto in Fort Kent was engulfed in flames and for months after was operating out of a temporary location. Steve approached then owner with an offer to purchase the business and rebuild at the original location. In 2013, Valley Auto became Valley Motors Inc. and the dealership was rebuilt. Both dealerships continued to grow and Steve got the idea of adding another franchise to his list of offering new brands to the Fort Kent area. In 2016, Pelletier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram was born offering certified FCA sales and service. These three franchisees operate under the 'Pelletier Motors' family of dealerships, which will encompass Pelletier Ford of Lincoln as of September 13, 2019. Today they continue to earn high marks for customer satisfaction, quality of service and sales figures. The entire team looks forward to the opportunities the future holds.
